Gospel Musician Nana Wiafe and Group of NGOs Offer Free Medical Screening For People of Dansoman
Ernest Wiafe Appiah known by stage name Nana Wiafe, a nursing officer together with a group of non-governmental organisations (NGOs), Gold Coast Medical Foundation, Rotary Club of Dansoman together with their sister partner, Rotary Club of Colesville in Harpursville, New York and the Proffer Aid International Foundation organised a day free medical screening for more than 400 people at the communities in the Dansoman Municipality, Dansoman market, Ada and Cape Coast on Saturday, July 3.
The medical screening was conducted by a team of medical experts made up of doctors, nurses, paramedics from Ghana and the USA, who checked the glucose levels of the people and screened them for hepatitis B, malaria,STIs, COVID-19 rapid testing, eye screening and hypertension.
The team also visited Fistula Hospital Mankessim for donation for their surgical operation.
The patients were offered snacks, free treatment and free drugs.
Those with more serious conditions were referred to clinics or hospitals nearby for treatment.
In an interview with Ernest Wiafe Appiah, the foundation on organising the medical exercise aimed at providing free medical screening and healthcare services for people especially the aged and people from deprived communities.
Ernest Wiafe Appiah is currently working on his own Free Medical Screening project probably this year with other corporate institutions for Dodowa Community. This project will be supported by the Ghanaian gospel musicians such as Ernest Opoku, Lady Prempeh, Selina Boateng, Rev Agnes Opoku Agyemang,Kwaku Gyasi who will create awareness of the Covid-19.
According to Ernest Wiafe Appiah partners can come onboard to support the project and also appealed to the government, pharmaceutical companies, businessmen and the general public to support to be able to carry out these Free Medical Screening project as planned.
Ernest Wiafe Appiah urges all Ghanaians to abide by Covid – 19 protocols and the using of hand sanitizer, Washing of hands and wearing of nose mask.
