Q& A : Why Aren’t All People Healed?-Dr. Kenneth Copeland
There is a caution attached to wondering why all people are not healed. That caution is that it can make us question what we know about God’s Word, and it can bring fear that we won’t receive from the Lord.
So as we look at this subject, the important thing is not to waver in our confidence in God’s love for us. Hebrews 10:35-36 says, “So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.”
Often, we just don’t know why healing does not manifest in a specific case. The reasons could be many. So our focus should not be on judging why someone else did not receive, but rather on what God is telling us to do regarding our own situation. Focus on God. That’s the only way we grow confident in His ability to perform in our lives, regardless of what we have or haven’t seen in other people.
The result of focusing on God through His Word is a growing confidence that it is always God’s will to heal us from every infirmity! Clearly, Jesus paid for the full healing of our bodies at the same time He made the sacrifice for our sins (Isaiah 53:4-5). Just as clearly, we see that we are in the midst of a spiritual battle that would keep us from receiving that healing. The Lord wants us to walk in total health, but the devil would like to see us remain sick and defeated.
There’s a reason the enemy wants us confused about God’s will to heal. This is a real spiritual battle—not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12). The enemy would love to see us fall short of receiving God’s best for our lives. That’s why healing does not always come easily.
Our relationship with God is the key to breakthrough in any situation we face, because He truly knows what is happening in our lives. The thing we may be struggling against is a spiritual attack of the devil. In these cases, the Lord may give us a specific scripture to use as our stand of faith.
At other times the thing we are struggling with could be the result of natural causes. In these cases, the Lord will tell us what we need to change to see results. In either case, we know that God always has the answer!
Although we may not be able to determine why others have not received, what we can do is always have confidence in God’s ability
