RIGHT WORDS AND MEDITATION
Psalms 19 vs
_>>14 .¶Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.-[KJV]<<||_
WHEREVER a person finds himself, two things basically define him at first encounter. The first is the appearance and the other one is the words from his mouth. Nevertheless, much emphasis is laid on the words from your mouth more than your physical appearance. Many people have been hurt, broken, imprisoned and even died as a result of careless words uttered by a friend, loved one, relative or even themselves. Jesus said “For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned (Matthew 12:37). Yes, your words determine your justification or condemnation.
The Psalmist rightly said that, it is his desire that the words of his mouth be accepted to the Lord. It implies that he wants to align the words of his mouth to the word, will and ways of God. This is done by making a conscious effort to fill your heart and thoughts (mind) with God’s word at all times. Afterwards, “your mouth shall speak wisdom; and the meditation of you heart shall be understanding” (Ps 49:3). Cherished one, what you constantly store in your heart determine what you speak persistently. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Mt 12:35).
If you can control the words of your mouth, you must first allow the word of God to have control of your heart. Make a conscious effort to meditate on the word with your heart, mind and speak same. For out of the heart of man are the issues of life (Prv 4:23). Beloved, the “mouth-heart” connection is very vital in your Christian life. Let your mouth speak wisdom and keep your heart with all diligence and understanding. By so doing you are aligning the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart to be pleasant in God’s sight. *Allow God’s word to guide your heart and mouth to speak wholesome words. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always!
