BELIEVE THE HOLY SCRIPTURES

1 Timothy 6 vs

20.¶O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: -|KJV |

IT is rare to come across someone debating the writings of Aristotle, Shakespeare, Isaac Newton, and other great scholars. However, you will find many so called intellectuals on TV or radio trying to debate the reality of the holy Bible that was written by over 40 different authors from different places, who were not in contact with each other (except the apostles). These forty men wrote 66 books during more than 1600 years about one central theme of creation and redemption by God through Jesus Christ. Above all, it was inspired by the Holy Spirit and written by holy men (2 Pet 1:21; 2 Tim 3:16).

Well, one can choose to debate the works of Aristotle or Shakespeare because it doesn’t require the Holy Spirit to do that ; it takes ordinary minds to achieve that. But the Holy Spirit is greater than your mind;The Holy Spirit is enough and perfect; You need Him to interpret the Scriptures. Paul as a matured Apostle admonished his son in the Lord to avoid foolish arguments and questions (1 Tim 1:4; 2 Tim 2:23).

For the Bible is not a book for religious debates. It is God’s manual for His children to believe and live it. For instance, to debate on whether Jesus was a black or white man is useless and childish ! This adds no value to your Christian life. That’s why we believe with the heart, not the mind, the mind always has questions, and we are admonished to renew it always (Rom 10:9,10; 12:2). You can choose to believe God’s word and be free or reject it and suffer.However,whether you believe or not, He is still God and His word is eternally true. Don’t allow any religious sect to flood your mind with unnecessary questions and debates about creation, heaven, hell, deity of Christ, sabbath and the likes.

Just accept and believe what the Bible says about them, don’t argue or debate them. Paul said these questions generate railings, strife and contentions (Titus 3:9; 2Tim 2:23). All these are answered perfectly in the Bible but it takes those with humble hearts and minds to allow the Holy Spirit to teach them. Beloved, to really live a great life to the fullest, you must put your ABSOLUTE belief in the Bible as the INSPIRED WORD OF GOD (The Holy Spirit is the author). And let it become the final standard of your life. Don’t debate or argue it, just believe it. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

PRAYER

Thank You my Precious Father for Your undiluted Word. I make a firm declaration of faith in the Bible as Your inspired word and manual for my life. I refuse to debate or argue the reality of it. There is enough evidence in my spirit to believe and hold on to Your word. I receive more light, grace, revelation and understanding in your Word in Jesus’ Name ! Amen
