USEFUL FOR CORRECTION

The holy scripture is a perfect blend of God’s heart and mind. He unveils his personal love letter to mankind through the scripture. And the scriptures are inspired for a purpose. It’s for doctrine, reproof and also for correction. We’ve learnt that God’s word determines the parameters of rights and wrongs and therefore it has the ability to correct. It can bring anyone on the wrong road to the right path. As the inspired scriptures rebuke you, it does so for your good, not destruction. And the main purpose of the reproof is to correct you.*

To correct here implies the restoration of something to its proper condition. The Greek rendition connotes helping back to their feet those who had stumbled. Whiles the scriptures rebukes you it also points the way back to godly living. As you move in your Christian journey, you will definitely need correction; correction of mistakes and errors which leads to discipline in obedience. When you receive correction, it’s a way of driving ungodliness, failure and destruction far away from your dwelling.

Proverb 22:15 says “Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.” God’s word is that rod of correction. Cherished one, when you are corrected by God’s inspired Scriptures, you are restored to an upright or right state. It leads to improvement of life or character. Accepting correction is one simple way to identify a humble person. He who hates correction will definitely end in a pit. *You can’t accept correction and not succeed in life. Be submissive and welcome it when necessary. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

I DECLARE
By Your glorious word I am corrected and walking in the paths of righteousness. Diversion, backsliding are far away from me. For Your word teach me the right paths and decisions to make. I am greatly helped by my heavenly Father in Jesus Name. Amen!
