24/7 DOXA Content, 21st April-TRAINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS

Another ultimate aim of the holy scriptures is to train or instruct those who believe it into righteousness. Yes, God’s inspired Scripture provides positive training (originally used in reference to training a child) in godly behaviour, not merely rebuke and correction of wrong deeds (Acts 20:32; 1 Tim. 4:6; 1 Pet. 2:1–2). *Being trained in righteousness involves holy living in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose and action; thus being nurtured to live God’s way.* Training is very vital in our Christian journey. God allows training because spiritual growth, maturity and development is gradual; it’s does not happen overnight.

God makes sure His children are trained to equip them for the task ahead. And He does this through the holy scriptures. God doesn’t use anyone He hasn’t trained. This is why He qualifies the unqualified through intense training in righteousness. When one is trained in righteousness, it gives him the ability to submit and conform to the nature, will and standards of God as revealed in Christ Jesus. Righteousness also involves replicating the life of God in us to the outside world.

Now, we know what God’s inspired scriptures do; therefore if it isn’t profitable for sound doctrine, reproof, correction and training in righteousness, then it isn’t inspired by God and therefore not part of the scripture. Cherished one, if it contradicts God’s word, then it is not inspired by God and therefore shouldn’t be relied upon. As part of this training, God will also bring you under the ministry of earthly “spiritual” fathers, mentors and instructors. All of these should be training that leads in fulfilling all righteousness. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

PRAYER
Ever-Glorious Father, I thank You for the ability of Your word to train me in all righteousness. I humbly submit to this training and nurturing in order to be well equipped in serving You all my lifetime in Jesus Name. Amen !
