Joshua 1 vs
7■” Only be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you. Don’t turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.”~《WEB》

As we embark on a journey to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives, there is one thing we all face and that’s called distractions. No one has ever gone through this life without facing any distractions. Distraction means to divert your attention from a worthy course. The first parent (Adam and Eve) were distracted from God’s agenda (Genesis 3:6,7). Noah faced distractions from the people when God asked him to build the ark. Lot’s wife was safely delivered by the angels of God out of Sodom and Gomorrah but she was distracted on the way when she looked back (Genesis 19:26). So Jesus said “Remember Lot’s wife” (Luke 17:32).
Distractions may come your way in the form of excuses, laziness, lackadaisical attitude, procrastination, pleasures of this world etc. Satan will try to divert your attention. People will also try to divert your focus off your assignment. The lust of the eye, flesh and deceitfulness of riches are potential distractions. But in all these, refuse to be distracted. In our opening text, God was teaching Joshua the power of focus and warned him about being distracted. So He said “Don’t turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go”. Distractions can cause failure in life.
Every prophetic dream or destiny will face persecutions and distractions from yourself (mental battles), family, friends, society and the devil. But sticking to your assignment as God demands of you will make your way prosperous. Refuse to be distracted from God’s assignment given to you. Jesus was so focused that He didn’t succumb to any form of distractions. Cherished one, choose to pattern your life after Jesus and stick to God’s word from the beginning to the end. Refuse to be distracted. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
I DECLARE
The Lord is my good Shepherd. He leads and guides me to the paths of righteousness. I submit to the leading of my Shepherd. I refuse to be distracted. By grace I choose to stick the word of God from the start to the end. I am enjoying good success as I focus on doing God’s word in Jesus Name. Amen!_
