GRACIOUS greetings, Cherished one. In preaching the gospel to unbelievers there are certain things you should know. Yesterday, we were admonished to believe Christ and His gospel not just to hear or argue or debate it. Therefore whenever you are reaching out with the gospel, it is a waste of time to argue or debate with someone who hasn’t believed the Christ. This is because the two of you are not in the same Kingdom. Apostle Paul admonishes “But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes” (2 Timothy 2:23 ).
The only message the unbeliever needs is the gospel of Christ. When he believes and comes to the sheepfold and begins to learn from Christ, most of his questions would be answered. Do not waste your time preaching about giving or tithing or holiness to an unbeliever. His feelings will fight the message and cannot understand. Also, do not preach to him your so-called holiness or perfection. In other words, don’t make it seem you are holier than all people and you are there to criticize or condemn them for their sins. Do as the focal text reveals.
We are all saved by grace through faith and still stands by the same grace not by our good works (Ephesians 2:5-8). As a Christian, you must present the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to unbelievers, then the Holy Spirit will use the word preached to work on the heart of the people as they yield to the gospel. Avoid promising people that when they believe all their lives challenges will be no more. Rather, tell them how they would be empowered by God’s word to conquer or dominate life challenges through Christ who strengthens them. Preaching the real gospel of Christ is enough, no gimmicks or tricks. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.
