_____________________________________FOCAL TEXT: Genesis 4:7►► “If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”~|NKJV_____________________________________
GLORIOUS greetings, Cherished one. Since the great fall of humanity, the behaviour and attitude of humans have never been the same. Man’s disobedience to God has brought a lot of repercussions on human race. This is true because we see the reality thereof in our world today. Romans 5:19 says “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners…: A sinner is one who is spiritually dead and separated from God; one whose spirit and soul are not alive unto God; one whose heart, thoughts and deeds are constantly engaged in perverting the will, ways and word of God.
One of the first persons God told to deal with sin because it’s crouching on his door was Cain. We can observe from our focal text how God rhetorically asked him questions for his actions. He inferred that because you didn’t do well, sin lies at the door. That’s sin lies at the door of your conscience; it’s trying to get full control of you if you open the door. Thus, the desire of sin was knocking at the door of Cain’s heart. However, God’s command to Cain was “you should rule over it”. But Cain didn’t listen and went ahead to fulfill the desire of sin by killing Abel, his own brother.
