GLORIOUS greetings Cherished one. Statistics show that suicide contributes to many death rates in the world. Suicide rates are higher in certain parts of the world than the other, however, it is one of the evil cankers launched by the devil to destroy lives. Some years ago, one young man called me on the phone that he was going to commit suicide. We rushed there to save him from that situation and this man is alive enjoying life today. Overcome suicidal thoughts.
Our focal text gives us a clue as to why the jailer wanted to kill himself. One was his belief system. Yes, what you believe controls you. Your belief determines your decisions, actions and inactions. Since he was a heathen (pagan), he lived by the belief that it is better to die by your own hands than to suffer the same in the hands of others. Such a mindset (custom) was applauded by their philosophers. Folks who don’t believe in Jesus Christ and His death for them don’t value life as such. If you understand the kind of death Jesus died for you, you will never desire to kill yourself.
Jesus intentionally died for you so that you can live triumphantly over life challenges. Jesus said be of good cheer even in time of tribulations for He has overcome the world (John 16;33). The second reason was wrong assumption. He assumed the prisoners had escaped, but they hadn’t. Beloved, many have died, lost relationships and treasures due to decisions made from wrong assumptions. Wrong assumption is the wrong use of your imagination and thinking. Believe in Jesus Christ. Don’t build your life on wrong assumptions. No matter the reason, conquer suicidal thoughts. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always. Amen!

Ever loving Father, I thank You for revealing to me the essence of Your Love through Christ Jesus. I do appreciate the life You give me and refuse to succumb to any evil thoughts of suicide. I belong to You forever for Your glory even in time of challenges in Jesus Blessed Name. Amen!
