FOCAL TEXT:1 Corinthians 15 vs 33 ►► “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”~|KJV|____________________________________
FAVOURED greetings, Cherished one. Our focal text shows how dangerous the conversation of evil people is, and what an influence bad principles communicated and imbibed, have on the lives and practices of people. When you imbibe evil communications from bad companions, it is recipe for disaster. In our modern world, there are many channels of such evil communications from the media and celebrities. However, you shouldn’t allow any to corrupt your good manners or morals. Yes, you can protect your good manners from being corrupted.
The Greek word for good manners is “chrēstos ethos”; which means pleasant, virtuous or useful habits. It also implies kind customs and profitable characters. Character or useful habits are not built one day; the same way evil communications heed to overtime can decay, spoil and ruin useful habits. Ecclesiastes 10:1 says “Dead flies cause the oil of the perfumer to produce an evil odour; so does a little folly outweigh wisdom and honour.” Don’t entertain a little evil communication or folly from any bad companion. Sober up! Protect your useful habits. How?
One, God’s word is the best antidote to all manner of foolishness, evil communications and attitudes. Make the word your final reference point. If it goes against the word of God, reject it. Two, be mindful of who you choose as your counsellors or advisors. Where do your counsellors take their inspiration from? Also, constantly build a strong intimacy with the Holy Spirit; Never treat any encounter with God for granted or lightly. Value such moments. Beloved, you are born of God, His seed is in you. Refuse evil communications and protect your good manners gained from Your fellowship with Christ. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.

PRAYER
Lord, Your precious word is in my heart and mouth. Your abundant grace inspires greater ability in me to apply Your powerful word to my life. I refuse evil communications and embrace useful habits. I am being helped by Your Spirit to protect my good manners in Jesus Blessed Name !
