FRUITFUL greetings, Cherished one. Some believers are sometimes irresponsible concerning the things of God and their own personal lives, yet God is always responsible and faithful. But to remain irresponsible is a recipe for poverty, lack and failure. God is perfect and doesn’t need your responsibility to make Him faithful; yet as a loving Father, He desires us to live responsibly. One preacher has rightly said “any faith that puts all the responsibility on God is an irresponsible faith”.
This is never far from the truth. Because observing from the scriptures, it cuts across that, believing in Jesus is a sure way into the life of absolute responsibility. Where responsibilities are not performed, liabilities and failure become the order. God is always willing and ready. So you should always be willing and ready to do what He says to you. In our focal text, Jesus went out with three of His disciples to pray. And instead of them to pray, they chose to sleep several times.
When Jesus came to find them asleep, He told them to WATCH and PRAY. Yes, Jesus loved and cared for them. Jesus used to pray for them too. However, there came a time He told them to rise up to responsibility and watch and pray themselves. Jesus didn’t tell them to sleep because He would watch and pray for them. Watching and praying was their responsibility, not Jesus’. This is the time for you to know, fulfill and master your responsibilities as a faith-filled Christian. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.

PRAYER
Father, I thank You for the enlightenment in Your Word. I accept the admonishment to watch and pray as a sign of maturity and being responsible. I refuse to shirk my responsibilities. I receive the empowerment to be responsible in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen !
