GLORIOUS greetings, Cherished one. Someone has rightly said that “Jesus tore the veil in the temple, religion sold it back.” Thus, there are many teachings and doctrines of human that oppose the redemptive work of Christ. In our focal text, the Spirit of Christ through Apostle Paul warned the Colossians not to allow anyone judge them on matters of food and drink. To judge here implies to condemn, determine, conclude, punish or put pressure. In other words, Paul warns the Colossians against trading their freedom in Christ for a set of useless, man-made, legalistic rules (Galatians 5:1).
Legalism is powerless to save or to restrain sin. False teachers sought to impose some sort of dietary regulations, probably based on those of the Mosaic law (Leviticus. 11). Since they were under the New Covenant, the Colossians (like all Christians) were not obligated to observe the OT dietary restrictions in order to please God. Observing dietary restrictions is not an element in Christ. It does not confirm or take away your salvation because your salvation is not based on corruptible things such as food and drink (1 Peter 1:23).
Don’t allow any denomination, leader or sect make you feel less saved by imposing dietary restrictions on you. If such restrictions stem from personal, institutional or cultural reasons, fine. But do not feel condemned or judged by them in the matters of salvation. You are free to eat anything and nothing should be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving ( 1 Timothy 4:4,5 ). The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.

I DECLARE
I am in Christ Jesus, therefore I am not condemned. I walk in the Spirit not after the flesh. My salvation anchors on the person of Christ not on my works. I receive with thanksgiving all the has been sanctified by the word of God. I refuse any doctrine that put restrictions on my freedom in Christ. I am free to serve the Lord. Hallelujah!
