24/7 DOXA Content, 29th April-A LIFE OF REVERENCE

FOCAL TEXT: Titus 2 vs 12

GRACIOUS greetings, Cherished one. The salvation grace of God also trains us to live godly lives. The word “godly” as used in our focal text means “pious”. To be pious involves exhibiting devout or reverence towards God. In other words, living godly lives implies taking on a God-filled and God honouring life. Thus, living out the God nature in you or acting like God is in you. A worldly person lives as such because the world is in him so a godly person lives because God lives in him. Hallelujah!

Another description of a godly life is showing reverence toward God and His word. Thus, showing profound awe and respect towards God. Beloved, this is the life we are called to live by the grace of God. Anyone who has reverence for God and His word will definitely show that in his words, thoughts, actions or attitude. It takes conscious gracious diligence to live this kind of life.

Apostle Peter says “…brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye DO THESE things, you shall NEVER FALL (2 Peter 1:10 ). Remember, you are to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present age (that is, in this perverse and crooked generation full of wickedness and all manner of unrighteousness). This is a sign that you truly love God above the world. Living soberly, righteously and godly are the sure signs that you are truly denying ungodliness and worldly lusts. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank You that I am a partaker of the divine nature. By Your rich grace, I am enabled to manifest reverence towards You and Your word in all aspects of my life. I receive help from the Holy Spirit to do this in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen !
