FRUITFUL greetings, Cherished one. Learning the truth of God’s word as new creations is not an option but a necessity. We have been learning the training that God grace brings us into. We know that grace has appeared to all people. We also know that this salvation grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. Today, the salvation grace admonishes us to live soberly as we keep on denying ungodliness and worldly lusts.

To live soberly implies living with a sound mind. Yes, it means being self-controlled. One translation puts it as “living sensibly”. Thus, living with clear-headed soundness of mind and wholesomeness of disposition and attitude. This is one vital choice every born again should do intentionally. A Christian is not supposed to live carelessly but soberly. Apostle Peter tells us one reason for sober living is that the adversary is roaring like a lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).

So a sober lifestyle is a resistant force against the devil. The Spirit through Paul tells us not to give place or opportunity to the devil (Ephesians 4:27). Beloved, grace does not sponsor carelessness. It rather inspires sober living. Do not take your words, thoughts and lifestyle for granted or lightly. Live soberly as you guide your heart, mind and body with the words of His grace. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank You for Your rich grace bestowed upon me, nurturing me into sober living. I refuse to take my life for granted or lightly. I guide it with all gracious diligence. I give no place to the devil because I am already occupied by Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
