24/7 DOXA Content, 23rd November-RELATIONAL PREPARATION Pt.2

GRACIOUS greetings Cherished one. In relational preparation, you must be guided by the Word to know the kind of friends or association to move with. Don’t just choose or move with anyone as a friend and start receiving counsel from him or her. You need wise associations not foolish ones. Who you constantly associates with consciously or unconsciously has influence on your life. Proverbs13:20 says “Whoever keeps company with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm.”

 

Thus, having a relationship with a wise person will save you from a lot of harm.

In terms of relationship, wisdom and foolishness can be contagious or transferable. So be vigilant. Amnon died prematurely because of a bad counsel from bad friend or association (2 Samuel 13:1ff). Honouring people does not mean you can walk with anyone you come across. No, there are certain behaviour you can entertain, others too you cannot and should not entertain. In relationships, we’ve established the complexity of human behaviour, therefore don’t kill yourself because of a failed relationship. Don’t be so bitter against everyone because a close friend, relative, or worker betrayed your relationship for money or fame or position.

As a child of God, be truthful, loyal and honest in your relationships to the extent you won’t be the one always hurting and disappointing the others. You are an agent of love and wisdom. Your relationship should reflect such. In terms of your relationship with the opposite sex, learn to know the different wirings of male and female so that it will help you in your dealings with them. Don’t take undue advantage of the opposite sex. Be self controlled and disciplined. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you. Amen!
