BLESSED greetings, Cherished one. The sacred scriptures have established the truth that whoever believes in Jesus Christ as the Son of God becomes the legal child of God. Thus, you cannot believe in Him and remain the same. Yes, a spiritual birth takes place. You become born again by the seed of God. Therefore you are not ordinary but a unique child of God. Today, our focal text unveils to us another effect of believing in the begotten Son of God. It says whoever believes in Him should not perish. Thus, your belief in the begotten Son prevents you from being perished. Hallelujah! What a life we have in Jesus!
You are not counted among those who would perish. To perish means to be fully destroyed or lose. It signifies a declaration that one must be put to death. It is metaphorically used to devote someone’s misery in hell. But in Christ, you shall not come to eternal destruction or ruin. This is a very powerful statement. You cannot believe, trust and rely on Jesus Christ and be destroyed in hell or lake of fire. Jesus continues and says “but have everlasting life”. In other words, your belief in Jesus gives you access to possess eternal life which makes you indestructible.
Remember, eternal life (Zoe) is the God kind of life in a recreated man. A man who possesses God’s kind of life cannot perish because God’s life is indestructible. Yes, eternal life cannot be condemned in hell nor enter there. Beloved, the privileges we have by believing in Christ far outweigh any benefits on earth; therefore believe in Jesus Christ now if you haven’t; else you shall perish because of the lack of God’s life in you. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.
PRAYER
Precious Father, I thank You for a perfect salvation plan. I believe in Your begotten Son. I am born of You. I am Your unique child. I possess Your life in me. Therefore I shall not perish in Jesus Blessed Name. Amen!
