BLISSFUL greetings, Cherished one. The effect or result of believing in Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour are numerous. And it is your duty to know and walk in them by faith. The believer in Christ is destined to continually know the things which are freely given to him so that he can rightfully enjoy them (1 Corinthians 2:12). Now, the holy scriptures have established on authority that when you believe in Jesus you become a child of God; you possess the life of God; there is a great change which takes place within you and reflects on your outside. Another effect is you receive total forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7). Yes, you don’t carry your sins to the Kingdom of Christ.
Your faith in Him and what He did on the cross of Calvary brings you the forgiveness of sin. According to our focal text, when you believe in Christ and His gospel, your eyes are opened; you are turned from darkness unto light. You are also delivered from the power of Satan unto the power of God in order to receive forgiveness of sins. Jesus came to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). So no one can receive and believe the Saviour and still pay for his own sins. Jesus died for our sins, not His sins, because He never sinned. It is your inability to save yourself from the power of sin that necessitated your need for a Saviour.
If you could, then you would not need a Saviour. But the truth is that, all have sinned and all needed a Saviour (Romans 3:23). Jesus offers free forgiveness of sins for all who believe in Him. In fact, His forgiveness is for the whole world but those who believe in Him are those who can appropriate it in their lives (1 John 2:1,2). Thus, your faith in Him delivers to you what His grace purchased for you. Do not allow anyone to condemn you because of your sins; for you have received forgiveness from the Saviour. Live with this consciousness and sin shall never have dominion over you. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.
PRAYER
Dear Precious Father, I thank You for forgiven me all my sins and cleansing me from all unrighteousness. Thank you for delivering me from the power and effects of sin. I am now sanctified by the blood. I am alive in You by the riches of Your glory in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!
