FRUITFUL greetings, Cherished one. The only proper way to love is to accept and walk in God’s kind of love. *Unless you walk in the revelation of the love of God, loving God and other people will be difficult for you.* The devil has done his best to distort, pervert and corrupt what God created in His power through deception, manipulation and the pride of life. There is this popular saying among some folks that ‘’love is wicked’’. This is a worldly mindset about love ruling some people’s life. When you understand God’s kind of love, you will know its nature.
According to our focal text, love is always patient and kind, not wicked. Yes, patience and kindness are some of the dimensions or expressions of the love of God. The patience of love is such that it is able to endure for long. The lifespan of love is not short. It suffers long. In other words, it is slow to progress toward feelings which cause violent breathing or rushing emotions. That is why God is slow to anger and rich in mercy (Psalm 103:8). It is not too quick to give judgment or punishment. It is able to bear situations even in times of difficulties. It doesn’t give up too quickly. It has the ability to wait for the right moments.
This is the nature of God’s love which must be expressed to our neighbours. Yes, love is patient, not wicked. Another dimension of love is that it is always kind, not dangerous and wicked. This means that love acts benevolently. Therefore, beloved, you will know love is in operation whenever you see patience and kindness at work, not boiling tempered and wickedness. Love is not wicked, but the heart of people can be wicked. So check the person’s heart, not the love. Today, be patient with someone and show “benevolent” kindness. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.
PRAYER
Lovely Father, I thank You for the spirit of understanding. I thank You for unveiling unto me the nature and dimensions of Your love in my heart. I go out today to walk in patience and kindness by the power of Your love. I express benevolence and patience to my world of contact, not wickedness. By so doing, I draw many to the Kingdom in Jesus Lovely Name. Amen !
