FAVOURED greetings, Cherished one. Salvation is a package full of treasures from the Kingdom of God’s dear Son. So when you are saved, you must come to the light of these treasures and enjoy them. Yesterday, we came to the fullest knowledge that we received forgiveness of sins when we believed in Jesus Christ. Forgiveness is pardoning of your sins. It is letting them go as if they had never been committed. It is receiving the remission of the penalty of your sins. Forgiveness is freedom or liberty from sin. It is a legal license that sin could not win over you. It is a gift from the finished works of Christ.
Your sins are forgiven in order to make you free from the power and shackles of sin. It makes you free from condemnation, guilt and sin consciousness. It is God’s way to engage you in righteous consciousness. God forgives you so that you can serve Him in obedience. Another powerful reality that happens to the Believer is he receives a new name or identity. According to our focal text, believers are sanctified in Christ and called saints. Yes, you are called a saint in Christ. That’s your new identity. Hallelujah!
Saints refer to set-apart people or holy or sacred ones. They are sanctified folks in Christ. The didn’t become saints by their own entitlement but through the sanctification of the blood of Christ (Hebrews 10:10). He sets you apart so that you can live for Him alone. You are not called a sinner again, but a saint. Yes, you cannot believe in Jesus and still be called a sinner. He changes your name and gives and new one. So stop defining yourself by your old nature; you have a new one in Christ called a saint. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.
PRAYER
Dear Precious Father, I thank You for given me a new name and identity. I am called Your saint because You have sanctified me for Your purpose and glory. I graciously live according to the nature of my new name in Christ. Hallelujah!
