GLORIOUS greetings to you, Cherished one. Yesterday, we learned that there is a place for the senses and faith realm. Today, we are learning the positive uses of our senses as we journey in life. Senses are synonymous with reasoning. Using your senses also involve exercising the mind. In other words, it implies perceiving with the mind. Apostle Paul, a barrister of the epistles made a logical statement in our focal text of how our reasoning could even perceive the invisible things of God by looking at creation. He says the invisible nature and attributes are clearly seen.
How do you see the invisible attributes of God? He answered “being perceived through the things that are made”. Thus, through creation. The word used “perceived” means “to continually apprehend or grasped by the mind.” Thus mentally conceived or understanding with the mind. Your mind is responsible for rational thoughts. So no one should have any excuse of not believing or knowing the attributes of God sensibly or mentally because God has shown his ability, existence, attributes and power by the things He created. It takes your senses to reason out things intellectually. That’s why education of the mind is important in the success of a person.
The Holy Bible isn’t against the right use of your senses. Beloved, the just lives by faith concerning the things that pertain to godliness but he lives reasonably or sensibly the things that require commonsense. Don’t wait for God to tell you to brush your teeth, eat well or take good care of your body. Use your senses where necessary; and where it is limited, use your faith. Healthwise, the Bible says physical exercise has some value (1 Timothy 4:8). So while you have strength, use your educated sense to eat healthily, exercise bodily and rest to keep your body moving. God will not use his supernatural power to do what your natural senses or ability could do. Live a balanced life guided by the word of God. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus abounds towards you.
PRAYER
Father of all wisdom, I thank You for guiding me to use my senses in a positive way. I graciously choose to live according to Your manifold wisdom revealed naturally, spiritually, mentally and in all aspects of my life. I refuse to be mentally or sensibly ignorant. For all the facet of Your knowledge has filled my heart in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen !
