GRACIOUS greetings Cherished one. Many have set great goals in different areas of their lives. That’s good, but you must set goals with a prize tag. Ask yourself what you will get from this particular goal. Our focal text unveils that the Apostle presses towards the goal for the PRIZE, not only pressing towards the goal. A prize as used here is one that’s received after winning in a public game or race. Thus, the award to the victor in the games/race. Awards are not given to those who set goals but rather those who press towards the goal to WIN. Award is for winners, not quitters.
In life you can’t just be pressing and pushing for anything unworthy. Ask whether what you are pursuing is worth pressing and also does it have a prize tag. It is said of Jesus in Hebrews 12:2:“who for the JOY that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God”. So the joy of many receiving salvation, living an abundant life and the joy exalting to the throne inspired Him to endure the cross. He didn’t just die because He wanted to die. No, His eyes was on the prize.
Beloved, if what you are busily pursuing for has no prize tag or awards at the end then it’s not worth pursuing. For instance, pursuing a righteous life will help you receive anointing and favour from God and people. Your life of integrity can yield great opened doors and opportunities. Prizes may come in many different ways. Therefore, fix your gaze on the prize and let that motivate and inspire you to keep on pressing towards the goal. Refuse to give up if the prize is worth fighting for. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.

PRAYER
Dear Precious Father, I thank You for the ability to set worthy goals and press towards them. I fix my gaze on the prize to inspire me press towards the mark of the high calling of God in Christ. At all levels, by your grace, I am pressing to win the prize for Your glory in Jesus Name. Amen!
