_____________________________________FOCAL TEXT: Luke 19 vs 47►►“And He (Jesus) taught daily in the temple…”.-|KJV|_____________________________________
FRUITFUL greetings, Cherished one. Rabbi, a title used by the Jews to address their teachers. It means “my great one or honourable Sir”. Some people including His disciples and Nicodemus addressed Jesus Christ by this title (John 3:2). It originated from the Hebrew word “rab” which means to become more or exceedingly great. Thus a rabbi was seen to be abounding exceedingly in wisdom and knowledge than the ordinary man. Jesus came to meet many teachers in his time but He was different from all that they even testified saying ” And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes”.
*He wasn’t teaching by the traditions of men, but from the depths of the Spirit of God upon Him (Luke 4:18)*. Our focused text says Jesus taught daily in the Temple. To teach means to impart doctrine or instill doctrine into one .The same way Jesus was teaching in the Temple, He also taught His disciples many principles in the Kingdom. Jesus didn’t teach them religion or traditions of the fathers or Pharisees but words of eternal life. We can see the impact of His teachings in the lives of the disciples in Acts 4:13 ”Now when the Jewish leaders saw the boldness of Peter and John…, they were amazed and realized that they had been with Jesus.” Hallelujah!
