FOCAL TEXT: Romans 6 vs 1,2►► “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”~| KJV |_____________________________________
GRACIOUS greetings, Cherished one. When the purpose of a thing is not known abuse is definitely inevitable. In Christ Jesus, everything is given and received for a purpose. Romans 8:28 affirms that every saint is called according to the purpose of God (not your own purpose). If we are called according to God’s purpose then it means everything we have by virtue of being in Christ is for a glorious purpose. Grace, the aura or supernatural influence or fragrance of God is given to the saints for a godly purpose. Romans 5:17 explicitly says that those in Christ have received abundance of grace (meaning grace is not scarce; Yea, grace is not limited in supply to the saints).
However, it’s expedient we know the essence of this grace we have received from our Lord Jesus Christ and put it to right use. Therefore, our focal text asks a question and answers it, “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound ? Certainly No! Grace does not help anyone to commit evil or sins. This is because we who are dead to sin cannot live in it again. The devil is the author of sin. Therefore, you need to take advantage of the grace of God. To take advantage of grace means “to profit from grace or make good use of grace”.
